Hummingbird Babies

My Aunt found a Humming bird nest in her backyard. While visiting her I was thrilled to take this photo.

The nest was only about 4 - 5 feet off the ground so it was easy to hold the camera above it to take the photo. The nest is approx 3 - 4 inches long and approx 3 inches tall. I would say the inside of the nest is less than 2 inches. Very tiny. Unless you see the birds sitting in the nest it just looks like a growth on the tree. I looked it up on the internet and apparently the nest is made from spiderwebs and then camoflaged with lichen, moss and other plant materials. This one was in an evergreen near the river that runs through my Aunt's property. I think she said it was a Yew tree.

My Nurses

Scraplift for Freestyle Fandango challenge original LO by prodigal1978

Journaling:
The nurses at the hospital in Gdynia were wonderful. Even though only one nurse spoke a little English (the red head) and I spoke no Polish we managed to communicate pretty well.
Boli means “pain” so whenever necessary we would just point to a spot on my body and say boli. If they said it they meant “are you having pain here dear?” If I said it I meant “It hurts right here I need drugs please.”

Kasia and Michael

In Poland not only is the groom allowed to see the bride before the wedding they get ready together. The tradition is for the couple to get ready with the help of their parents. My Mother and Father really enjoyed this custom.

Flatties Unite

On the way back from Poland we had to change our flights so we would stay overnight rather than flying again the same day. So we stayed at a hotel at Heathrow. Lenny Henry is one of Pat's favorite comedians so I could not resisted getting the flatties together. (I photoshoped out my Mother's hand)

Proud Papa

My Dad loves photos but he's not very good at taking care of them. This one has water damage and it's stuck to the glass he had it in so I took a picture of it. You can see my reflection. Hopefully someday we'll find the negative because it's a favorite photo for all three of us.
